Will my order be in the same dye lot?

Absolutely — I always do my very best to make sure your order comes from the same dye lot. Consistent colours are so important for beautiful, seamless projects, and I know how much makers rely on that.

If I don’t have enough balls in the same dye lot on hand, I’ll place a special order with our Melbourne warehouse, so you’re never left with mismatched shades.

Your stitches deserve the perfect match, and I’m here to make sure your project turns out just as you imagine.

What if the yarn colour is not quite what I expected?

We do our best to accurately photograph yarn colours, however colours may appear slightly different on different screens. If you have any questions about a colour before ordering, please feel free to contact us.

Your happiness matters. If something isn’t quite right, please email me within 7 days of receiving your order and I’ll be glad to help.

Items approved for a refund or exchange must be returned in their original packaging within 21 days. Shipping costs are non-refundable once an order is in transit, and return postage is the buyers responsibility.

Refunds will be issued once returned items have been received.

Can I order extra yarn later if I run out?

We always recommend purchasing enough yarn for your project at the time of ordering, as dye lots can change. However, if you need additional yarn later, please contact us and we will do our best to source the same dye lot for you if available.

I’d be happy to keep extra balls aside just for you while you work on your project. When you place your order, just leave a note in the checkout notes, and I’ll make sure they’re set aside. Happy knitting and crocheting!

What ply yarn should I use for my knitting pattern?

Most knitting patterns specify the yarn weight or ply required. Common yarn weights include 4 ply, 8 ply (DK), 10 ply (worsted) and 12 ply (bulky).

I recommend checking the meterage per ball (for example, 50g or 100g) of the yarn specified in your pattern and then comparing it with the meterage of a similar sized ball of the yarn you are considering using. This will help you estimate how many balls you may need for your project.

Why is the dye lot important when buying yarn?

Yarn is dyed in batches called dye lots. Slight colour variations can occur between batches.

For this reason, we always try to supply yarn from the same dye lot when multiple balls are ordered for the same project.

  • Quantities are approximate and depend on stitch pattern, size, and personal tension.

  • Always check the meterage listed in your pattern and compare it with the yarn you are buying.

  • For multiple balls, try to order the same dye lot to avoid colour variations.

  • Contact us if you need help calculating exact yarn amounts—we’re happy to assist!

  • Not sure if this is the right yarn for your project? Check out a website called yarnsub for lots of ideas on what other yarns you can use!

Can I place a large order?

Of course you can! Even if the quantity you need isn’t showing as available in my stock, I can place a special order directly from the Melbourne warehouse just for you.

Once it arrives, I’ll dispatch your order as quickly as possible — usually within 2 weeks of you placing it.

Large orders (over 25 balls) may also be eligible for a discount, so please don’t hesitate to ask — I’m always happy to help make your creative projects even more achievable.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Your order will be on its way very quickly. I pack and post orders every day, and most parcels are dispatched next business day—often the same day you place your order.

Once it’s with Australia Post, delivery times are usually quite fast, and you’ll receive full tracking so you can follow your happy little parcel all the way to your doorstep.

If your parcel ever seems slower than expected, please feel free to get in touch and I’ll happily look into it for you. I want your yarn to reach you as soon as possible so you can dive into your next project without delay.

Placing a custom order for handmade family gifts?

Custom pieces are lovingly handmade and usually posted within 2 to 8 weeks, depending on the project. Because every order is unique, I kindly ask that you email me before placing your order so I can give you an accurate timeframe for delivery.

Once we’ve chatted and you’re happy to go ahead, I’ll confirm your estimated delivery date and keep you updated throughout the process. I’m always happy to help and want to make sure your handmade treasure arrives right when you need it.
